Casey, as his friends and family call him, is a Bay Area native, born in Oakland and raised in Oakland, Berkeley and Alameda. He has a B.A. degree in Architectural Studies from Connecticut College, and while attending a summer architecture and planning program at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, his career path shifted from architecture to urban planning. From there, he spent 15 years with the City of Oakland Planning & Building Department.

Casey has been renovating and building new construction projects for 16+ years and buying and selling real estate for 13 years, with an eye for obtaining ways of gaining instant equity within a property. Casey has incredible knowledge of Oakland, Berkeley, and Alameda neighborhoods and future development projects in the area.

With his unique combination of experience in architecture, urban planning, and real estate, Casey brings particular expertise to The Gunderman Group.

Casey lives in Berkeley with his wife and daughter in their 1970’s contemporary designed home, next door to the modern home he designed and built for his father. Casey enjoys writing screenplays, children’s stories, and nonfiction real estate development literature; he is currently working on a book about condominium development. He also enjoys travel photography.
