Suzanne is a Bay Area native, born in Berkeley. She has an MA in art history from UC Berkeley. Her first job was as a theatre costumer for Bay Area Shakespeare festivals, and she later worked for a local textile manufacturer for nine years.
She moved to KQED, where her love of project management began. She organized the nation's first "green" pledge drive and assisted KQED in becoming carbon neutral.
Following her interest in climate change awareness and social responsibility, Suzanne became a project manager for Celery Design Collaborative and Free Range Studios, two local creative agencies specializing in social justice, corporate responsibility, and animal rights. Over the last six years, she has led many sustainability, branding, and marketing campaigns and web development projects for clients ranging from nonprofits to Fortune 500 companies. She is certified as a PMP (Project Management Professional) and a SCM (Certified Scrum Master).
Suzanne’s past volunteer experiences include audience development for the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive; committee leads for the Association of Moving Image Archivists; the Silent Film Database Project; a summer at the Venice Biennale with the Australian Pavilion; an internship at the Wollongong City Gallery, Australia; and as a board member for Project Tango. She’s currently a member of CERT (the community’s emergency response team) in Pleasant Hill and a volunteer with the Contra Costa Humane Society.
In her free time, she squeezes in as much gardening, camping, ice skating, hiking, cycling, textiles, tango dancing, and Pilates as she can.
