Historically, Southside was developed into a neighborhood by the College of California, hence its other nicknames South of Campus or South Campus. Today, it’s predominantly inhabited by students, and the neighborhood is now home to a flourishing urban community filled with bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and parks.
